Getting wickets into the ground can be challenging - especially with larger wickets or dense soil. When it comes to big hoops and/or tough ground conditions, you need to send in the 'big guns'. This hoop mallet is made in America, weighs in at 5-1/2 pounds, making the job much easier. The non-marring surface will not chip the finish on your hoops.
If you don't need this much hoop mallet, take a look at our 4 pound mallet. It works well for average soil conditions or when Foxy wickets are used.
Getting hoops in the ground, especially set accurately is not an easy task - unless you clamp the hoop's stanchions (legs) to a fixed opening. This hoop clamp starts its life as a Vise-Grip clamp. We then modify the jaws to hold the stanchions and add an adjustable center that allows you to decide how wide the hoop should be set. It is made strong so as to take the brutal punishment expected when pounding hoops into unfriendly ground.
Now included with every hoop clamp is a convenient hoop gauge to accurately ensure your hoops are set to the regulation size. It will measure 3-11/16" and 3-3/4" openings quick and easy.
Getting wickets into the ground can be challenging - especially with larger wickets or dense soil (or clay). This dead blow mallet will make the task much easier while it's non-marring surface will not chip the finish on your wickets.
This 4 pound mallet works well for average soil conditions (when putting in Tournament hoops) or when Foxy wickets are used. If you are faced with hard dry soil or clay, we recommend the heavier 5-1/2 pound size hoop mallet.
